Our clients rightly expect choice, quality, and good service and we work hard to meet exact requirements through our company philosophy of doing what we say fairly, honestly and efficiently whilst still keeping our sense of humour...
We build relationships based on trust and understanding. We pride ourselves in nurturing relationships with both our suppliers and customers and specifiers. We work as a team with real passion and care and honesty and integrity. If we can't help you we will tell you but hopefully using our experience we will be able to offer an alternative solution
Mundy Veneer is a family business established in 1998. Passionate about wood veneer, we stock hundreds of types of species. Selecting veneer is a very specialist niche skill. Our principal buyer, Simon Mundy, travels widely using his 30+ years of knowledge and experience to source the best veneer. He will not only be looking at the quality of the grain and markings but he will be considering how well it has been produced and also whether it smells and sounds as it should do!
If you image that only 3% of the worlds' trees are good enough quality to produce veneer and of that only a tiny percentage are good enough in terms of production and grain for us to select, it gives you an idea of how precious and unique our veneer is. Amongst Tabu distributors worldwide we are unusual as we travel to Italy to select only the best from their productions of dyed veneer so that we can be sure we are offering only the finest veneer that nature affords us.
Like Tabu, we are committed to the promotion of the sustainable use of timber worldwide and are fully accredited by the Forest Stewardship CouncilĀ® (FSCĀ®) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC) as well as certified as a Responsible Timber Supplier. See our Accreditations page to be able to download and view our certificates.
When sourcing veneer we follow a rigorous due diligence process in accordance with the UK Timber Regulations (UKTR) which came into force in January 2021 and prior to that the European Union Regulations (EUTR) which came into effect in March 2013. For more information please see our Sustainability page.
In 2006 as part of the Mundy Tree Planting Scheme we began a "Tree for 10'000 Scheme" where for every 10,000sqm of veneer sold we plant a tree.
